Read The Scripts Series Review: Did Atlanta Season 4 give us a Perfect Ending?

Updated: Aug 22, 2023

FX Original Series Atlanta Season 4 was really good I like how they continued the story from Season 3 as we see the crew back home and getting into crazy things again. Episode 1 was really dope I like how they show respect to MF DOOM by having Alfred go on a scavenger hunt to find Blueblood Funeral. Having Van and Earn stuck in a time loop in Atlantic Station and Darius being chase by a woman in a scooter was so funny. Episode 2 was really good and interesting I enjoin how Earn plan to get back at this white TSA worker by making her think that she was getting a chance to get her book published. The Episode also show us Earn in therapy talking about how he was kicked out of Princeton and how he was abuse by a family member when he was a kid and I thought that scene was really good.

Episode 3 was interesting I like how Earn was trying to sign D'Angelo and he had to stay in a building for a couple of days and when he gets a chance to meet him it wasn't the real D'Angelo it was some guy telling Earn that he is not meeting the real D'Angelo. the guy is one of many that dress up as D'Angelo and you can tell that this guy was crazy but I thought him making a peanut butter chicken skin sandwich was funny. Watch Alfred try to get a YWA (Young White Avatar) was funny and it tells you how the music industry is. The one white kid was okay but the other was annoying and I like how they had Alfred asks Earn how he was doing after they was talking about how hard it is to be someone manager.

Episode 4 was so good and funny when Earn mother took his grandfather so she can spend some time with him Earn had to deal with his Aunt Jeanie and she was hilarious. I laugh so much at the conversation that Jeanie and her Siblings was having and Katt Williams got me when he said you can't kidnap your own Dad the word kid is in it and it's mathematically impossible. I like the story that they was telling with Earn Dad watching him enjoy his time in the mall but I didn't like how the young teenagers was messing with him but I did like the ending it was good. Episode 5 was so crazy you can tell that they was taking shots at Tyler Perry and having Van and Lottie in this Episode was great. Having Donald Glover as Mr. Chocolate was so funny and watching Van trying to get Lottie back from being use by Mr. Chocolate I thought that was good. The interaction between Van and Mr. Chocolate was really good and I like the conversation that Van had with Lottie at the end of the episode was interesting.

Episode 6 was also funny having Alfred worry about the Crank Dat Killer and him trying to stay alive was good. I like how they had Soulja Boy in this Episode and watching Earn and Darius trying to decide if they should kiss each other to get a new pair of shoes or not get them at all was funny. The shootout in the mall was crazy almost everyone was shooting at the guy that was going after Alfred and I feel bad for the one guy that work at the mall. He was trying to get Alfred to listen to his freestyle but he got toss into the glass window. Episode 7 was okay I like the story between Earn and Van but this Episode just doesn't interest me but it wasn't bad I did like how Earn was trying to get Van to leave Atlanta with him so he can have both Van and Lottie together with him in California and I'm glad she said she will go with him.

Episode 8 was so interesting I like the documentary style of it and bring back the B.A.N was cool, I did like how they was telling this story about how Disney made Thomas Washington the first black CEO and he wanted to make the blackest movie ever and then they end up making A Goofy Movie. I really like that they got Brian McKnight, Sinbad and Jenna Wortham in this episode and I did like how they talk about Thomas dealing with mental health, drink and his relationship with his wife and son was falling apart. The ending to this episode was good and I really like the different type of episodes that doesn't focus on the main cast just like how it was in Season. Episode 9 was interesting I like that we got to see Alfred by himself at this farm trying to fix this tractor and grow the plant that he got at Blueblood's funeral. While relaxing at his farm something is eating Alfred plants so he is trying to figure out how to get rid of it and I thought the interaction between Alfred and the worker in the hardware store was funny. There were moments in this episode that made you believe that Alfred was going to die and when he was fighting that big Wild Hog it look like that was going to be it for him but he was able to kill it and survive the rough night he had on the farm.

Episode 10 was the best we see Darius going through different dream in this Isolation Tank and we see him run into his Ex Girlfriend and she was funny when she took the cop gun and ran over someone I thought that part of the episode was crazy and good. I really like the one scene when Darius went to go see his brother and the conversation they had was interesting and when Darius look at the picture of there mother you can tell that he loves and misses her. I thought having Darius using Judge Judy with a big butt so he can wake himself up was funny and the conversation between him and Cree Summer was really good. I thought the Black Sushi Restaurant scene was funny watching Alfred, Earn and Van talking about getting some Popeyes and how the sushi doesn't look good was good. I did like the owner telling them about how black people don't trust each other or help other black people start their own business. I like how Darius came to save them from the restaurant in a pink Maserati and he got them some Popeyes. In the last scene we see the crew together enjoy themselves and Darius said that all of this is not real it's a dream but the rest of the crew said that what he did was real and they went outside to smoke and we see Darius watching TV and the real Judge Judy is on and Darius is sitting there trying to figure out what is going on.

I thought Season 4 was really good and did Donald Glover, Stephen Glover and Hiro Murai give us a perfect ending yes was it weird yeah but if you watch the past seasons of Atlanta you will understand why this series ending the way it did. I have to say I enjoy the some of the weird episodes and the story was the best If Donald Glover is going to make another TV Series I will definitely watch it.

I would recommend to watch this Season and I will give it a 9/10
