Top 3 of July 2024

Mark and The Crew

Amazon Prime Original Series Invincible Season 2 was an interesting season to watch. I thought the story was good but it did get confusing throughout this season, I like that we learn more about some of the characters and I also like some of the new characters that were introduced. The animation was very good to me and I also love the fight scenes, the cast did a great job and I like the different actors and actresses they got to play the new characters. Now there are two things that I didn't like in season 2 of Invincible, the first thing is the multiverse theme it was interesting at first but it became a mess and it made no sense to have this as one of the themes for season 2. The second thing I didn't like was the ending I like that Omni-Man is feeling guilty for what he did to everyone on Earth but having him say he misses his wife Debbie wasn't good to me. Now I am interested to see what they are going to do in Season 3 and Invincible Season 4 has also been confirmed. So season 2 may not be the best but I am excited to see what crazy things we are going to see next. I do recommend to watch this second season if you haven't already.

To Me, My X-Men

Marvel Studios and Disney+ Original Series X-Men '97 was a great series to watch, if you grew up watching the original X-Men: The Animated Series then you will love this revival. I thought the story was excellent, the writing for this series was done very well and I enjoy seeing the X-Men team dealing with different things throughout this season. It was nice to see all of the X-Men characters again and I also like the other characters they had in this season. Some of my favorite characters were Storm, Wolverine, Magneto, and Madelyne Pryor, I also like Gambit, Morph, and Cable. The animation was really good, the fight scenes were also very good and the easter eggs and cameos were great. The writing for this season was amazing Beau DeMayo did a really good job and I love how they set up season 2. I recommend to watch this series if you haven't already.

Aang and The Gang trying to make it

Netflix Original Series Avatar: The Last Airbender is an interesting series to watch, if you are a fan of the 2005 animated series you might or might not like this one. I thought the story was good it felt like I was watching the animated series all over again, but you can tell that they made some changes to the story for this live-action show. I like most of the characters in this series, some of my favorite characters are Aang, Katara, Zuko, and Uncle Iroh. I thought Ozai and Azula were good and I also liked June, Gyatso, and Princess Yue they were good side characters. The CGI was really good, and some of the fight scenes were not the best but I like it. Now I have to be honest the writing for some of the characters wasn't the best and the casting for some of the characters for this show was off to me but overall this series was alright. I am interested to see what's going to happen in the second and third seasons and I would recommend to watch this series but like I said if you are a fan of the animated series you might not like this.

So overall I thought X-Men '97 was a hit, Invincible Season 2 was also a hit but the mid-season break didn't help at all, and I have to be honest Avatar: The Last Airbender is a miss to me. The series is a way better live-action adaptation than the 2010 live-action film but not having the original creators of Avatar to work on this series doesn't feel right.
