Read The Scripts Series Review: Was Dark Side of the Ring Season 4 better than Season 3?

It's The Beast from the East

Vice TV Dark Side of the Ring Season 4 was good and it had interesting stories some of the wrestler's stories were wild, sad and the things the wrestlers went through were interesting. The Chris Candido and Tammy Lynn Sytch story was good and sad we saw how both of their careers started and the problems they went through, Chris was able to overcome his addictions but he ended up getting hurt catching pneumonia, and passing away from it. Tammy Lynn's career went down as she struggled to overcome her addictions and got into multiple legal troubles this story was a sad one but it was good to see that Chris got another chance before he passed away.

The Magnum T.A. Story was okay we get to see the rise of Magnum T.A. and all he has accomplished in pro wrestling in 1986 T.A. got into a Car Crash that ended his wrestling career and was forced to retire. T.A. was able to continue working in the pro wrestling business with different wrestling companies and he was able to live a good life this was an okay story but they could have told us the story of how T.A. ended up becoming the Stepfather to Tessa Blanchard.

The Graham Dynasty story was a sad one this story of Eddie Graham and his son Mike Graham was very interesting and we get to see how Eddie Graham grew up and how he became a big star in the NWA, The Booker of Championship Wrestling from Florida and the President of the NWA. Eddie Graham had an Alcohol Addiction, Depression, and problems with his finances and some of his loved ones. Eddie Graham ends up committing suicide by gunshot and this was a sad way for his story to end, we also see how Mike Graham grew up and how he got into the wrestling business. Mike Graham worked with different wrestling companies throughout his career but was also dealing with some problems himself and Mike ended up committing suicide by gunshot just like his father. We also find out in this episode that Mike Graham's Son ended up committing suicide the same way as his father and grandfather and this was a really sad episode.

What Happened to Doink the Clown? was a wild story this was all about Matt Borne who started his career in the NWA and then made his way to the WWE, Matt had an up-and-down run in the WWE and left the company to go work with other wrestling promotions. Matt Borne made his way back to WWE again and that's when he became Doink the Clown, he had a good run as Doink and we saw different Doink the Clowns help out Matt in his matches but his behind-the-scenes problems with some of the wrestlers got him fired once again from WWE. Matt Borne went on to work with ECW and other Independent promotions and his wrestling career after WWE was a little rough but he was able to stay relevant and had a good run. In 2013 Matt Borne passed away from an accidental overdose and a lawsuit was filed against the WWE, this was a sad story but Matt Borne's wrestling career will always be remembered by everyone.

The Junkyard Dog story was a good one we see how Junkyard Dog got into the wrestling business and he had a really good run in different wrestling companies and was the most popular black wrestler in 1984 when he joined the WWE. Junkyard Dog had ups and downs and drug addiction during his time in WWE and when he left the company in 1988 he went to the NWA/WCW and had a good run there, after he left WCW in 1993 he worked the indies and pop-up in ECW till 1998. On June 1, 1998, Junkyard Dog got into a car accident and passed away after going to his daughter's high school graduation. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004 by family, friends, and wrestlers that the Junkyard Dog trained and we also find out that Junkyard Dog's daughter passed away in 2011 and this was a sad but good episode about Junkyard Dog's career and life.

The Adrian Adonis story was good but interesting Adonis started his career in Pacific Northwest Wrestling in 1974 and had a good Tag Team run with Roddy Piper and other wrestlers. In 1979 Adonis joined AWA but had a short Tag run up to 1981 and that's when he joined WWE. Adonis had Tag and singles matches when he started his WWE run and in 1985 Adrian changed up his gimmick and became "Adorable" Adrian Adonis. He had a good run in the WWE and was getting a big push but Adrian's drug addiction and problems he had with some of the wrestlers caused him to get fired from the company in 1987. Adrian's career was not doing good and his health was not good at all while working in AWA but after having a couple of matches he decided to get back into shape and work to get back into WWE. In 1988 he worked with New Japan Pro Wrestling and was teamed up with Owen Hart and other wrestlers. On July 4 1988 Adrian Adonis and a couple of wrestlers he was with got into an accident when their minivan went off a bridge into a creek and one of the wrestlers was the only survivor. Adrian Adonis didn't make it but he is always remembered for his work in the pro wrestling business and this story was a good one but also a sad one.

The Abdullah the Butcher story was really interesting we see how Abdullah got into the wrestling business, how he blade himself, and how he became popular for his Hardcore/Deathmatches. Abdullah works with different promotions and we also see Abdullah work with some of the top managers and wrestlers throughout his career. Abdullah ends up having a match with Devon Nicholson aka Hannibal and in this match, Abdullah cuts Devon with a dirty blade and that's when things take a turn for the worse for the both of them. Devon Nicholson went to work with the WWE but his career was over when WWE told Devon that he had Hepatitis C. Devon sued the company and he was able to find out how he got the disease and that's when Devon sued Abdullah for millions of dollars. Abdullah took a hard hit financially from the lawsuits but he continued to work, Abdullah had his last match in 2010 and he retired from pro wrestling and started a business but Abdullah was still struggling financially and still dealing with lawsuits. Looking on the bright side of things Abdullah was inducted into the 2011 WWE Hall of Fame and he is still alive living a good life, he will always be remembered for his work and making Hardcore Deathmatches a thing in pro wrestling.

The Bam Bam Bigelow story was a good one we see how Bam Bam grew up and how he got into the wrestling business, Bam Bam worked with different promotions early in his career and was making a name for himself. In 1987 he made his New Japan Pro and WWE debut and Bam Bam had a good run in both promotions but left WWE in 1988 and went to work with WCW. After his run in WCW Bam Bam went back to WWE in 1992 but he had an up-and-down run and ended up leaving the company again in 1995. Bam Bam went on to work with some Independent and Japanese wrestling promotions and he went to ECW for a good quick run. Bam Bam went back to WCW in 1998 but after WWE bought WCW Bam Bam went back to the Indies and he had a little run in MMA and had an acting career. Throughout Bam Bam Bigelow's career, he did have a drug addiction problem and had to stop wrestling, on January 19 2007 Bam Bam Bigelow passed away from an accidental drug overdose and the way he died was so sad but Bam Bam will always be remembered for what he did in the pro wrestling business.

The WCW Bash at the Beach 2000 Controversy story was okay but funny, if you are a wrestling fan then you probably already know about this story but if you are not then you will probably find this one funny. So we get the backstory about how Vince Russo came into WCW and started working with Eric Bischoff as Co-Booker of WCW, at this point, WCW was on a downhill slope and the company was in trouble but Vince Russo thought he could come in and save it. It was a bumpy ride because Russo wanted to push the younger wrestlers and other wrestlers who had been with WCW but had not gotten a chance, Eric Bischoff still wanted to work with some of the older wrestlers who wanted to keep their top spot in the company and some of the wrestlers had creative control to make the final decision when it comes to who is winning the matches.

On July 9, 2000, WCW had their Bash at the Beach PPV and Russo was trying to convince both Bischoff and Hulk Hogan to change the ending to the match to have Jeff Jarrett win the WCW World Title after Bischoff and Hogan told Russo that they would not change the finish to the match Russo went to Jeff Jarrett and told him to lay down so that Hogan can win. After that match Hulk Hogan left the PPV and Russo did a Shoot Promo on Hulk Hogan and had Booker T beat Jeff Jarrett for the World Title, Hulk Hogan hit Russo and Time Warner with a lawsuit but Russo won the lawsuit but Hogan ended up getting the last laugh as Hulk Hogan was able to get out of his WCW contract and got a lot of money from it. After all of that Hogan never went back to WCW, Russo was still with the company and Eric Bischoff was trying to buy WCW but Vince McMahon bought the company in 2001, this was a funny story, and like I said before if you are a wrestling fan then you know all about this story and it was funny to see Russo and Bischoff tell their side of what happened at the PPV.

Now the Marty Jannetty story was a wild one we see how Jannetty grew up, how he got into the wrestling business and we also see how Jannetty ends up teaming with Shawn Michaels to become The Midnight Rockers. Jannetty and Michaels had a good run as a team working with different promotions but ended up in WWE in 1988 as The Rockers but they caused so must trouble so the both of them didn't last one week in the company and got cut by WWE. After working with a wrestling promotion Michaels and Jannetty went back to WWE and had a good run but was still acting wild on the road. The Rockers had a Tag Match one night and Marty Jannetty did his Rocker Dropper move on Chuck Austin and ended up getting hurt, they found out that Chuck Austin's neck was broken, and ended up being paralyzed. Chuck Austin hit both Jannetty, Michaels, and WWE with a lawsuit and they all decided on a settlement agreement but Jannetty had to pay Chuck Austin and Michaels didn't have to pay anything. Marty Jannetty's drug addiction was getting worse and the friendship between Jannetty and Michaels was falling apart so Vince, Jannetty, and Michaels decided to come up with a story to break The Rockers up.

We see the both of them on Brutus Beefcake's talk show The Barber Shop and that's when we see Michaels turn on Jannetty, after the breakup we see the rise of Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty's problems keep getting worse and he had an off and on run with the WWE. Marty Jannetty left the company and in 1997 he worked with Independent Promotions and WCW but then he wrestling in the late 90s. Marty Jannetty got a second chance to make this right with Shawn Michaels, in 2005 Jannetty went back to WWE and The Rockers got back together and had a nice short run because Jannetty got into trouble again with the law and that was the last time we saw him in the WWE. In 2020 Marty Jannetty put up a post on Facebook talking about how he made a guy disappear when he was 13 because the guy was trying to assault him and this caused a lot of people to talk about it, to make this story event more wild Marty Jannetty was trying to use this as a storyline to get back into pro wrestling. There was an investigation about Marty Jannetty's allegations but no evidence was found, Marty Jannetty is still telling his wild stories online and I hope he gets better, this was a crazy story but getting a look at Marty Jannetty's life was interesting.

This season of Dark Side of The Ring was good we got some interesting stories and I did like some of the wrestlers they talk about in this season, now was season 4 better than season 3 no I think last season is still the best and I Thought some of the stories was just okay. My favorite episodes were Breaking the Cycle: The Graham Dynasty, What Happened to Doink the Clown?, Bam Bam Bigelow: The Beast from the East, Bash at the Beach 2000, and The World According to Marty Jannetty.

I do recommend to watch this season and I will give it an 8/10
